The heat of autumn
is different from the heat of summer.
One ripens apples, the other turns them to cider.
— Jane Hirshfield
APPLE PIE is a lovely autumn blend, with a base of black tea, layered over with the traditional flavor of apples and cinnamon.
Ingredients: Black tea*, cinnamon*, dried apple pieces*, and safflower*.
- Bring water to a boil.
- Add 2 grams (approximately 1 tsp) of tea blend per 8 oz. of water to infusing device (tea ball, reusable tea bag, strainer, etc.) directly into mug.
- Pour the heated water into the mug.
- Steep for 3-5 minutes.
Note: People often overbrew their tea because of a desire for a stronger brew. Instead of overbrewing and risking bitterness, if you find you want a stronger brew, try using a bit more of the tea blend.
- Strain tea leaves, or remove infusing device.
Black tea – Associates with the earth element, and in that vein, strength and stability. Boosts courage. Banishes boredom, and stimulates the mind.
